Friends of the Attic
As we’ve grown from a “one room schoolhouse” in an actual attic to the vibrant and flourishing learning community we are today, we’ve depended upon many individuals beyond our immediate community to actively support, collaborate, and champion our work.
The Friends of The Attic are all of the extended family members, neighbors, fellow educators, mentors, and advisors who believe in our mission, share our vision, and continue to enable us to reimagine education. It is only with their enthusiasm and encouragement, financial generosity, and volunteer efforts that our work in progressive education thrives.
What our extended community says about The Attic…
"Visiting The Attic renews my faith in human beings. The genuine warmth, the encouragement of each individual as a worthy person…and encouraging children to think creatively. I mean…who hands a math worksheet to children, with the instructions to use their own reasoning to come up with answers…and there are no wrong answers?! Radical! We have immense gratitude for The Attic in the lives of our kids and grandkids!"
Phyllis and Al LefohnAttic grandparents
“The Attic is unique, inspirational, and so creative in its approach to progressive education. It is truly a model for rethinking--and living!--what a community of learners can be and do.”
