Parents and families hold a central and valued place in our learning community!
Family Participation
Attic parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and our alumni and graduate families are our most dependable volunteers. Upon enrollment, all families agree to contribute time and energy toward our volunteer opportunities (such as lunchtime supervision, program support, community building, fundraising, public relations, outreach, landscaping, special projects, and site/facility maintenance). As a non-profit 501c3, the quality of our programs and sustainability of our organization relies on the dedication and unwavering support of our generous volunteers.
Parent Support
Just as we support our children, we also support our families. We recognize that parents and guardians know their child best, and they are seen here as active members of their child’s educational team. Attic parents are expected to continuously pursue learning about the constructivist and developmental approach of the Attic philosophy. We offer many opportunities for adult members of our community to gather, to learn, to foster connections with teachers and other parents, and to get support for the challenges and celebrations of homeschooling and parenthood.
